The zodiacal houses represent the „place” where the action takes place, regardless of the zodiac sign in which is the ascendant. They present specific areas of everyday life where all of this takes place. The placement in a house indicates whether, for example, Mars manifests in relationships (7th house), self-service (6th house), family (4th house), or elsewhere, but not limited to just that.

Key Points:

  • Planets show what happens.
  • Signs show how it happens.
  • Houses show where/when it happens.

Let’s see what areas the zodiacal houses represent:

1st House – I am – This is how we enter this world and learn to survive, instincts develop during this period – from birth to 1-1.5 years. It represents subjectivity, the physical body, self-image, and personality. Aries, like young children, make a lot of noise when they need something, but they are also the most in tune with their bodies. If we didn’t feel safe or were rushed or shaken during this period up to 1.5 years, as adults, we have difficulty listening to our instincts, body, and, essentially, basic needs. In this period, we also learn to control our body – sitting, crawling, and taking our first steps.

2nd House – I value/have – It represents self-development and self-worth, developing possessiveness from 1-1.5 years to 3-3.5 years. It represents values, possessions, resources, and financial security. During this period, we become more stable in our bodies and start categorizing our resources, filtering what belongs to us and what doesn’t. In this period, we learn to accept a simple „no,” so that as adults, we can respect everything of value to others. It’s also when we learn to control our body better.

3rd House – I communicate/transmit – It represents mental development and facilitates clearer communication, with sentences not necessarily logical but continuous, from 3-3.5 years to 6-7 years. We learn to interact and communicate verbally, develop new body movements, and have cognitive coherence. We are in a continuous learning and curiosity phase, and everything and anyone can distract us. It’s important to teach children how to distinguish between right and wrong during this period.

4th House – I feel/develop/vent emotions – It represents emotional development within the family and the management of emotions and feelings outside the family relationship from 6-7 years to 12-13 years (puberty). During this period, there’s an emotional separation from parents. We are partially at home, partially outside, and emotionally attached to school friends, forming friendships outside the family. However, we still depend on our parents. This is when we learn to ventilate our daily emotions and frustrations and understand that if things aren’t going well at school, our mother will take care of us when we come home.

5th House – I create/express – It represents cognitive development and creative expression based on emotions and feelings learned in the previous period. During this time, abstract thinking develops, from the onset of puberty (12-13 years) to 17-18 years. This is when our sexual instincts develop, and hormonal changes lead to romantic interests. Our creativity grows, we express ourselves without fear, and we establish our inner authority, becoming more confident and independent. Parents of teenagers should pay attention to how their children express themselves, as it’s a reiteration of the first house period (0-1.5 years) but with decision-making capacity. A wanted and acknowledged child becomes a balanced adolescent.

6th House – I serve/analyze/create a routine – It represents the development of reason and introspection to prepare us for a healthy entry into multidimensional life from 17-18 years to 20-21 years. During this period, we choose our life path based on the personal authority developed in adolescence. Typically, if we were allowed to express ourselves freely during adolescence and were heard, we easily choose our path in life and adjust our routine to achieve our goals – selecting a college, engaging in various improvement activities, volunteering, all to plan our future actions. If creating a routine is difficult, it takes us back to the 3rd house, where we should have learned to distinguish between right and wrong to apply the principles to ourselves.

*Life becomes multidimensional starting from the 7th house, where we express our internal world (the first 6 houses).

7th House – I relate – It represents life in partnership, the ability to relate that we developed in the Virgo phase through introspection and routine, commitment to another person. We learn how to relate to equals (1 to 1) and how to keep commitments. We’re concerned with the partner, their needs, and the contribution both need to make for the partnership to work, without losing personal value and identity. In this dimension of relationships, we learn how to negotiate, how to satisfy our needs and those of our partner. If relationships are challenging, it takes us back to the 2nd house, where we should have learned self-respect to respect others.

8th House – I transform/create intimacy – It represents life after making a commitment (from the 7th house period) with clauses and appendices that must be honored. In this period, we deliver everything we agreed to in the commitment, even if it wasn’t explicitly written. We transform ourselves for intimacy and create intimacy with our partner. We start rediscovering ourselves, but in the presence of another person. This is when we truly get to know our partner, and we are held accountable if we don’t honor the commitment. It’s a period of „on-site” distribution of activities and partnership resources. If the partnership isn’t working, we return to the 7th house, where we learn to negotiate with a different partner.

9th House – I judge/travel – It represents how we communicate and convey the principles of the couple. We travel and learn to accept other cultures. It represents how we are when we enter other cultures or countries than our own. We judge our relationship with strangers and their religions or life philosophies. It represents the ability to take our culture to other regions and dimensions, pilgrimage, and accepting others, no matter how different they are. If we have a fragile identity (problems in the 5th house period), we become dogmatic and believe that what we’ve learned so far is right for everyone.

10th House – I have a status/public image – It represents the aspirations an individual has outside the couple. This is the sector of life where we objectively see ourselves, based on our achievements or changes in our status – how we present ourselves to the world and what our achievements are, how we are in public. This sector results from the career chosen in the 6th house period, following the chosen routine. Most of us see our achievements in our children when they grow up, so our achievements become visible later in life. If there are issues in this area, we need to return to the 6th and 7th houses to reconfigure life plans.

11th House – I am a team player/have friends – It represents the circle of acquaintances an individual has and spends leisure time with. How we are among friends, how we are part of the public or organizations – it represents friendship and the people we choose as individuals. This sector teaches us to be fair and just, even if we are different individuals. It promotes equality, fraternity, and acceptance of different genders, cultures, and preferences. It has the motto „we are unique, but together we form a group and head towards the same destination.” It represents sustainability through human consciousness and the responsibility we have for the environment we choose to live in.

12th House – I serve the collective/subconscious – It represents the involuntary contribution that an individual makes to the group or collective. It represents the psychic dimension and the impact we have on the world, whether it’s known or unknown. How we serve and how others serve us through the belief systems – it represents the sacrifice we make for the world, the sacrifice we make to ease our conscience. It also represents the prenatal period, and if it’s difficult for us to ease our conscience, it’s likely that our mother had problems or fears during the last trimester of pregnancy. This is the only area of our lives where it’s recommended to dissolve the ego and sacrifice personal identity, being completely in the service of the world without expecting anything in return.

As you know, stay liquid!
